Wow why has it taken me so long to listen to this album, just amazing! What a great band. This is probably my favourite by them after one listen, and I really like the other albums too.

I really liked this album upon release, but listening back to the album again, I find half of the songs bland and the other half are really good. I think they should focus on using more guest vocals in their songs. 'Leave It', 'Shuffle' and 'How Can You' were really easy to like but 'Favourite Day' and 'Beggars' are just boring. It's undeniable that Bombay Bicycle Club are an experimental band. You're just not going to get one particular sound out of one album that's all.

A Different Kind of Album : it's funny how this album caught me completely off-guard. I wasn't expecting anything groundbreaking and looking at the reviews doesn't tell you much, other than that it's nothing new but well crafted. I'm probably not well enough versed into contemporary indie music because for me this album has something alien about it. They sound like a lot of other artists (Wild beasts, Bon Iver, Animal collective and such) but it feels like they're adding something else. Songs like "Lights Out, Words Gone" or" or "Fracture" sound bland or dissonant at first but end up stirring up something inside that I keep coming back to - fitting considering the title! I felt the same thing with Interpol first 2 albums (even though they don't sound anything alike)
